Ailidh still in exam mode, so met up with my niece Toni at Forfar McDonalds and headed up Glen Clova to tackle the Corbett Ben Tirran.

We parked up at the Milton of Clova Car Park, headed past the Hotel and after a bit of looking around found the start of the path behind the Hotel, which isn't overly obvious to find. The path heads up through some trees, then via open moorland.

Once we reached Loch Brandy, we turned right and headed around the loch and then up to the point called Green Hill overlooking the loch and views towards Ben Tirran itself.

The path was straightforward to follow, mostly alongside a fence, but quite muddy in places, especially around the small water feature beside the point marked 857m on the os map. Soon we reached the trig point of Ben Tirran where we stopped to have some lunch.

Heading first to the south west cairn, we then headed down steeply west, then south west to join the track that heads downhill from Loch Wharral. Further down, the track joins another, at this point we headed off track and across the burn of Loch Wharral, picking up at first a faint track through the heather, which became more defined towards the bottom.

Once we reached the road we headed back up the glen towards the car, mostly on the road, but closer to the hotel there is a path on the right hand side to follow. After a quick brew up, I dropped Toni back in Forfar before the trek home.
