Early morning for the drive over to Laggan, arriving at Garva Bridge around 9am. Watch out for the big bump in the road after the first cattle grid just outside Laggan!!

Crossing the bridge, then turning right it is just a short distance to the next bridge. Once over we made the mistake of following two other walkers up the track missing the path that follows the Feith Talagain, checkout the pictures to see the correct turn off.

Once further up the track we realised our mistake, so headed off north along a faint path for a couple of hundred metres before turning north east, bashing some short heather to eventually join the correct path.

The path follows the Feith Talagain for some distance, over a style of sorts and up and down a couple of bumps. Approaching the Allt Corie nan Dearcag the path starts heading uphill, we managed to cross at the lower point before starting the boggy ascent north east up towards the clouds.

There were several steepish sections on the way up, eventually reaching the flatter plateau. By this point the wind was getting up a bit and we were in the clag, however the summit was a decent distance further on, past a couple of high points and some snow remnants. Once we gained the top of Geal Charn we took what little shelter the cairn gave us to have lunch, unfortunately for our first new Munro of the year, the mist didn't clear, so no views!

We retraced our steps, this time keeping to the path all the way back to the bridge, the lower sections quite boggy in places. After having a brew up we headed home, but not without a drop in past Joes Chippy on the corner in Kingussie for an early well deserved supper.
